Pave the Way to the Future!
Restoration Ingersoll is working to revitalize the sidewalks and landscaping along Ingersoll Avenue and is raising money - brick by brick.
Restoration Ingersoll is conducting a "buy a brick" campaign to raise money for the street revitalization effort. For $100, supporters can have a name or short message engraved on a brick that will be incorporated into the sidewalk plan.
Restoration Ingersoll, a group organized to coordinate streetscape improvements along the Des Moines street, has been raising money for a pilot project for improvements between 28th and 31st streets. The project would serve as an example of what could happen for the rest of the street.
Bricks purchased by supporters will become part of the project. The bricks will be integrated into areas of the design by the landscape architects.
Bricks can be engraved with as much as two lines of text. Additional sponsorships are available for items such as benches, planter urns and bicycle racks.
The construction contract for the street improvements is expected to go out for bid by winter, with construction starting in spring 2007.
Just print the Buy A Brick Form, fill out and mail with payment to the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation at 1915 Grand Avenue Des Moines, IA 50309.
